ZenN Final Conference – key success factors and future replicability

In October 2017 the ZenN Final Conference took place in Bilbao, Spain. The ZenN research project has been aiming to reduce energy use in existing buildings and neighbourhoods. For almost five years residential areas in Sweden, Norway, Spain and France has been involved in demonstrating large scale renovation measures with the aim towards nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) standard.

During the Conference the ZenN partners presented the project results and achievements in nZEB Renovation; Barriers, key success factors and guidelines, as well as potentials for future replicability and local energy retrofitting replication plans.

The conference ended with a visit to the Mogel district in Eibar whose renovation is an example of how a Neighbourhood Association as promoter and stimulator of the project, working in collaboration with the Public Administrations as facilitators, has made possible the rehabilitation of the neighbourhood.
